The only two articles I've written so far detail some really neat things you can do with Docker, but you might not have ever used it before and might not have any idea on how to start.

This will be a very short post on how to get started so you can run the application in "All Your Swarm Are Belong to Us" in case you didn't meet the "The latest version of Docker" pre-requisite. If you need help installing Linux, then Google is going to be your best friend. Once you've got one of the four below-mentioned Linux distributions installed, then this article can be your best friend.

Supported Linux Distributions

  • CentOS
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Debian
  • Ubuntu

The Quick and Easy

WARNING: I do not maintain - the following commands pull a script from the internet and then run it automatically in bash. Please inspect this script before running it.

wget -O - | bash
sudo usermod -aG docker $USER

Now all you have to do is log back into your shell. That's it. You're done. Really.

The Long and Hard
